Judy O’Connell:Judy writes, speaks, and consults on school technology and library issues. She is an educator and information professional. Currently, Judy is the Head of Library and Information Services at St. Joseph’s College in Hunters Hill in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Scott Murphy:
Scott is Superintendent of Littleton Public Schools.

Christian Long:
Christian is a high school English teacher and coach working at a college-prep, preK-12, independent school in Ft. Worth, TX. In addition to working in schools as a teacher and coach for over ten years (prior to his return in the fall of 07), he spent several years working with architects/planners, educational and technology leaders, policy makers, and communities to design and build schools from pre-K through the university level. This work took place throughout the United States and around the world.

Lucy Gray:
Lucy Gray is the Lead Technology Coach at the Center for Urban School Improvement at the University of Chicago. In her current role, she is responsible for the development of a technology professional development program on three University of Chicago Charter School campuses. Lucy also supports technology integration efforts at the North Kenwood/Oakland Charter School. She is also an Apple Distinguished Educator.

Andy Kerr:
Andy is the Representative for House District 26 in the Colorado Legislature.

Alex, I am not saying that texting is bad. That is not my point at all. When people that fall into it and do nothing but text, instead of call them, or talk to them, that is not good. Texting can be great, and so can blogging. It can fill a niche when it is illogical to talk face to face with someone or call them. Blogging is the saame way. This is a great way to use blogging :)

Catem- I think that schools could incorporate meaning from outside school better. And you bring up a good point, I think that if we could be challenged in our beliefs, then it could help us form our own beliefs. Maybe the school system thinks we are not ready to form our own beliefs yet.

@Lucy- I just wanted to say one more thing. I already feel that I know my calling, I love kids and I plan on being a Kindergarten teacher, or at least a teacher of of a young grade. I have just always felt that I was ment to be a kindergarten teacher. Even the people that know me well say that I will definitally be a kindergarten teacher.

Deeply appreciated being able to 'attend' this session -- even if half-a-day late.

My 17 month old son has been sick all week, and I had to suddenly leave school before lunch in order to take care of him...which meant I was suddenly unable to be part of this session as I flew out the school door to get home.

Fascinating thread re: spirituality and the labyrinth concept that Pink writes about. Given that religion and school are often not allowed into the same conversation (at least with public schools), this is also striking.

Sorry for not being able to be available today at the last minute, but I'm also equally appreciative that the sessions is still 'open' to read -- even at the edge of midnight.
