What changes do you think will occur in Winston and Julia's relationship now that they have been caught, and how will this effect their challenging of the system??
I think that Winston and Julia's relationship will change a lot. Most likely they will be taken away and "vaporized," so obviously they will never see each other again. But they will have died for a worthy cause (the Brotherhood and freedom for the people of Oceania). The fact that they have been captured and will be "vaporized" for challenging the system will make a statement and carry on the idea of the Brotherhood.
I don't think Winston and Julia will ever see each other again. They committed a huge crime against the party, so I doubt that the Party will ever allow them to reunite. I think their challenging the system is coming to halt, because they're most likely going to be tortured and killed, but like Amy said, at least they're dying for a good cause.
Now that they have been captured, I think that they aren't ever going to see eachoter again. I think that they will end up spending the rest of the lives (which probably won't be very long) in the Ministry of Love. I think that if they would ever be able to get out then they would be changed and probably wouldn't want to meet eachother anyway.
I agree, I think that their relationship will be different physically, because they will not be able to see each other, but emotionally, I think that they will stay the same. If Winston and Julia truly love each other, then they will still care for each other from afar.
I agree with everyone else, about how they probably won't see each other again. And what lukez was saying about how they will probably be in the Ministry of Love for the rest of their doomed lives. However, i disagree with maddie: they don't truly love each other. they lust for each other, and winston sees it as a way to break Big Brother down. btw, does anyone see any coincidence about how Big Brother and the Brotherhood both include the word "brother"?? is this intended you think?
Considering how once the thought police catch you it is widely believed that you will be killed. I think that it is very likely that they will never see each other again but that they will still always love each other. I don't believe that challenging the system isn't done yet. Winston can still challenge the system by not believing what Big Brother says, by not caving to the pressure to worship Big Brother.
I agree with everyone else. I think that Julia and Winston will probably never see one another again, and that they will most likely be vaporized. Since they have committed such a huge crime against the Party, I doubt that they will ever be able to unite with one another, if they don't get vaporized. I agree with Amy and Katherine that their intentions were good, and that they realized what they were getting into when they signed up to be a part of the Brotherhood, as well as plotting against the Party.
Now that they've been caught, they probably won't meet. Let's face it: the Party isn't that stupid. If they're brainwashed, they probably won't like each other, and if they escape, well, I can't see how...
Just like everyone else has said, I don't think that Winston and Julia will ever see each other ever again. If the Party rumors are true, then they will be either killed or released back into the world. I think that even if they were released back into the world, they wouldn't be able to be together because the Party would always be watching them. I don't think that they will ever be able to challenge the system again, because of the situation they are in. But who knows...
I dont think the Winston will see julia again, and if they do it wont be enough for them tobase a relationship on. i also think that the will eventually be de-humanized to the point that they no longer have any connection to eachother, or their feelings for one another.
I think that Winston and Julia's relationship will change for one of them, probably Julia because she doesn't seem to care as much about the politics and how wrong everythink is, but for the other one, pobably Winston because he his concerned with the politics and therefore more resistant to whatever the party does to him. So the one that doesn't change is going to feel betrayed by the other one and feel even more lost or more determined then before.
I think it will bring them even closer because they both have a common goal and being seperated will just make them want each other more. Then I think eventually they'll start to forget each other. Then near the end of the book they will find each other again.
I think that it will be interesting to see whether Julia and Winston will maintain the same relationship as before, even partially. I dont think this will happen and i think they will eventually not remember the feelings they had for eachother due to the torture that they will probably endure. I dont think there is any way they can retain their feelings for eachother.
Their relationship will definately change because of all the hardships that they will go through. They are bound to be tortured until they confess everything. And, now that they have been caught they don't see eachother at all so it's really hard to have a relationship in the first place. I think that they still love eachother deep down inside but they know that betrayal is almost inevitable in a way. I don't think that they will be doing any more of challenging the system very soon.
They might never even see each other again, but if they do, I think their relationship will only get stronger because they will have missed each other so much.
Their relationship will definitely change. At first, they would be worried or curious about one another, but with all the tortures that they will go through, they will forget each other and even betray each other because their relationship is sexual, not a loving relationship.
